The Board is satisfied that Mdm Kay Kuok would bring invaluable insights and contribute to the Board's deliberations, and provide greater balance and diversity of skills, experience and gender within the Board. Besides being the Executive Chairman of Shangri-La Hotel Limited, Mdm Kay Kuok has made notable contributions to educations, tourism, healthcare, arts and environment. She has served on several community service and statutory boards including the Singapore Tourism Board, South West CDC, National Arts Council, Singapore Environment Council, National Environment Agency, and National Youth Achievement Award Council. She has received several honours and awards including the Public Service Medal (PSM) in 1998, Special Recognition Award from Singapore Tourism Board in 2004, the Public Service Star (BBM) in 2005 and The Meritorious Service Medal in 2015. |
